The LiveStack Tour - Northumberland

Artists' Books with Sarah Morpeth
5

Hello from Northumberland!

I’m here for the first stop on the LiveStack tour! It has been the most wonderful day making these beautiful artists’ books with paper artist

in her studio workshop.

I created LiveStack because in my four months on Substack, I have virtually met a community of gorgeous humans who I consider friends, but only ever from behind a computer screen. Today I got to meet one in real life for the first time, and along with the lovely Margot, Lisa, and Helen (my co-workshoppers), I came home with not only a box full of books but four fabulous new friends! Actually, five. Mitch the dog was super company. The starlings in the barn wall provided a heartwarming soundtrack, too.

I even picked up a scalpel for the first time in nine months. Turns out I haven’t quite forgotten how to use it yet.

And at the end of a fab day, Sarah generously let my children make a book of their own, which they are super excited about!

I’ve shared a little flavour of what we got up to in the audio above.

Massive thanks to Sarah for kindly inviting me to spend today getting hands on with book craft. I will absolutely be back soon.

Do you want to get involved in real life in-person creating?

Sarah’s next artists’ books workshop is on Sunday 13th July, you can book here:

I want to make the pretty books!

See what other exciting events are coming up in the LiveStack directory:

And if you’re an event host, tell me about your events and I’ll include them in the June update of the directory:

I have an event to list

I’ll be back on Friday 9th May with news from part two of the LiveStack Tour - at

& Substack - With Ease Retreat from Oxfordshire - I’m very excited! If you’re not able to join us in person, listen in from here - it’s the next best thing :)

And finally… please tell all your friends about LiveStack!

So far all the events are located in the UK, but I’d love to know what’s going on where you are, too. Let’s make LiveStack as global as this Substack community that inspired it!
